"During the period spanning from September 2009 to July 2010, Thomas Wähling has performed several strategic projects for us, relating to corporate financial management and risk controls.
 
Firstly, Thomas Wähling developed a “corporate financial management system” for us. This concept holistically connects investor relations, internal corporate valuation, value driver and key performance metrics based target setting and pragmatic budgeting mechanics with the set-up of the corresponding profit and cost centers and revenue and expense types. It also includes relevant steering factors and responsibilities, controlling & escalation points and processes, as well as the definition of relevant data requirements.

Within the context of this project, Thomas Wähling also specifically reviewed and evaluated our Asian growth strategy from a financial and operating perspective.

Secondly, Thomas also designed a concept that serves to improve risk controls within our “structured products issuance” business. The main goal of this concept was to increase the quality and efficiency of our risk monitoring and decision making, by embedding systematic “pre- transactional” risk assessments into our overall risk appetite, as well as into workflow-supported transactional and operational decision making processes.

For both projects, Thomas also performed a detailed review of our current systems, data environment and processes in the context of our business case.
