"Thomas Wähling led the Corporate Architecture department since June 2012, with a main focus on improving corporate decision making processes, process standardization, appropriate data management and synergetic system building. Due to personal reasons, Thomas decided to leave Russia as of end of November 2012, but will continue to support the firm as an advisor to executive management.

Thomas distinguishes himself due to his outstanding analytical capacity, continuously and very quickly analyzing problems live from different perspectives, solving them within a wider, strategic context of the firm. He especially brought into the firm a huge level of practical and theoretical know-how, with an outstanding capacity to communicate abstract concepts with easily understandable examples. Thomas showed us the real value that IT solutions, process and data management can bring to a firm. He very strongly contributed to raise the awareness and importance of the IT function in TNK-BP.

Within a very short period of time, Thomas successfully united and developed the Corporate Architecture team, focusing on common objectives and strongly promoting team work, within an environment of very different characters and intellectual levels. His very significant improvements, achieved in only a few months, to communicate within a Russian professional, cultural and linguistic environment, certainly helped him to achieve this outstanding performance."
